Generator Basics
Everything you always wanted to know about standby power but didn't know who to ask!

"The Upper Valley Leader for standby, and prime power systems"
A high tech factory in Hanover, NH did the math. Every power outage cost them thousands of dollars in lost wages, productivity, and
spoiled product. Although a big investment, a generator and auto transfer switch large enough for the entire facility
was installed, and began paying dividends almost immediately. Now production continues unaffected by utility outages or shortages.
This picture shows the Elliott Power Systems 780 KW diesel powered generator set, complete with a 2000 gallon double wall fuel tank.
A local computer software company had an existing generator system that was showing it’s age. Although the system received regular
maintenance, the company that manufactured the engine had been out of business for many years, and parts became unavailable. Controlled
Power removed the 25 year old system, and installed a new 180 KW Elliott Power Systems generator, complete with fuel base tank.
A central Vermont town received a federal grant for standby power for the fire station. The station had an area perfect for a generator,
so this installation is indoors. The 25 KW Elliott Power Systems propane fueled generator provides enough power for all the needs
of the station.
A new water pump station needed a standby generator. This sound attenuated Generac Power Systems 60 KW generator set keeps power to
the pumps, and water to the people, in any conditions. These completely automatic systems include a weekly self-test mode.
The second pump station on this project had even larger pumps, thus this Generac Power Systems 200 KW diesel engine powered generator
set. This unit is complete with double wall fuel base tank and sound attenuation to keep it quiet due to it’s proximity to a Veterinary
clinic.
Do the people who control the Northern New England power grid need back up power? Well, of course! Here’s an 80 KW sound attenuated
generator set, diesel powered, with sub base fuel tank. So if the grid goes down, a Generac Power Systems generator and auto transfer
switch provides power to the facility that puts the power grid back together. Do you think they’d take a chance on something less
than the best?
